About Majo
Intertwining her love of textiles and the rich culture of handwoven crafstmanship of her native Colombia, Majo combines that with Brooklyn style.
As a mother of two who has been playing with textiles since childhood, the ache she felt when her children outgrew beloved clothing and her passion for sustainability, led her to create a way of preserving the memories attached to well worn items. By deconstructing worn out clothing articles into their basic pieces, she is able to use these to weave. Using modern handweaving techniques, and letting the fibers and stories in each item guide her, Majo uses an intuitive approach to creating stunning conversation pieces for your walls.
